Adrea Rubin started her career in 1974 as the Direct Mail Marketing Association’s Insurance Council administrator. In 1975, Colonial Penn Insurance Company recruited Ms. Rubin to learn insurance direct marketing and handle the data acquisition for AARP’s multiple insurance products. In 1976, she opened Direct Media’s New York City branch office. She was named Salesperson of the Year from 1985 to 1988, and became the first female member of the board of directors, and the original, sole female shareholder of Direct Media.

Ms. Rubin opened Adrea Rubin Marketing in 1990, now with offices in New York City, Albany, Arkansas, Boston, Bridgeport, and San Antonio. An acknowledged expert in insurance direct marketing, she has worked as a marketing strategist for more than 40 insurance carriers in the life, health, and property and casualty arenas. She has remained true to the insurance sector while also establishing the firm’s credentials in credit card marketing, senior, retail, health, and continuity verticals. Over the years, she has had the privilege of advising many important brands such as Mutual of Omaha, Citicorp, International Masters Publishers, JPMorganChase, Physicians Mutual and Fingerhut. The average tenure of the firm’s client base is in excess of 20 years. Ms. Rubin is instrumental in developing the firm’s product offerings and strategic direction.

Ms. Rubin is a long-standing member of the Direct Marketing Association (List Leader of the Year, 2009) and the Direct Marketing Club of New York (Silver Apple Award Winner, 2011). She has served as the International ECHO Awards finalist judge for insurance/financial services from 2009-2011. She has been an avid supporter of the DMEF and has served on its planning committee for six years. Ms. Rubin is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council as a diversity vendor. She is an active member in the Women Presidents’ Organization, Direct Marketing Club of New York, The Direct Marketing Idea Exchange, and the DMA Insurance/Financial Services and Insert Media Councils. Ms. Rubin served on the List Leaders Board of Directors for five years and as the Chairperson for the 2009 Fast Forward program. She has participated as speaker and panelist at several marketing/insurance industry events and has written for many industry publications.
