Our Background
Adrea Rubin began her Direct Marketing career in 1972 as the Direct Mail Marketing Association’s Insurance
Council administrator. While spearheading the Insurance Council, Adrea was solicited by Colonial Penn to
Join Names Unlimited, a list brokerage firm owned by Colonial Penn. Specializing in insurance from the
inception of her career, Adrea worked solely on the AARP account, and continued to be the sole list broker
behind AARP membership/insurance solicitation until 1989. The AARP endorsement was awarded to Prudential
Insurance Company in the early 1980s.
In 1976, Adrea Rubin was solicited by Direct Media, Inc. to open a branch office in New York City, which she
owned and operated until 1990. Adrea capitalized on her entrepreneurial spirit by opening Adrea Rubin
Marketing, Inc. in 1990. As a testimonial to her abilities, 100% of her long-term client base continued to
use her in the new venture. Recognizing changes that would affect the future of the list business, Adrea
merged the concept of traditional list brokerage with the non-traditional use of compiled names, and applied
this concept of utilizing psychographic and demographic data to counteract the effects of the shrinking
traditional list universe. As a result, Adrea founded a list management company – Adrea Rubin Management,
Inc., in 1992. In 2006, Adrea Rubin Media, LLC was formed to meet the changing needs of the firm’s clients
in the insert media and interactive channels.
